Education · Prototype → Production

A cohort of thirty works. A cohort of thirty thousand doesn't.

Auth, roles, data protection for minors, and load behaviour added to an edtech prototype before an institution's procurement team asks about any of it.

  • Auth, DB, payments wired in
  • Zero-regression code audit
  • 30–60 day launch window
  • Post-launch support included

What we build

Prototype → Production for education, specifically.

  • 01

    Roles and institutional auth

Student, educator, parent and admin roles done properly, with SSO against the institution's identity provider rather than a bespoke login.

  • 02

    Minor-safe data handling

Consent capture, retention limits and moderation built in, because a school's procurement will ask and a generated prototype never has answers.

  • 03

    Load and term-start behaviour

Every cohort logs in during the same fifteen minutes. We test against that shape rather than an average.

What we measure

  • p95 latency at projected term-start load
  • Security findings closed before procurement review
  • Deploy frequency and change-failure rate

Instrumented in week one and reported weekly. These are the numbers the engagement is judged on — not a forecast of what they'll be.

Constraints

What has to be true in education.

  • 01

Academic help is Socratic by design

For coursework, the system asks and hints rather than answering, and hands off to a human when a student is genuinely stuck. Building the answer-machine version is easy and actively harmful to the institution buying it.

  • 02

    Minors change the data rules

Under-18 cohorts bring stricter consent, retention and moderation obligations under DPDP, GDPR and COPPA-equivalent regimes. That shapes the architecture, not just the privacy notice.

  • 03

    An educator reviews anything assessed

Generated assessment content and feedback drafts go to an educator before a student sees them. Grading with consequences stays human.

How it runs

The Prototype → Production engagement, step by step.

  1. 1

    Code audit

We review every file. Find dead code, hidden bugs, security holes, and cost traps left by the generator. Send you a written report.

  2. 2

    Foundation

Real auth (Clerk / Auth.js), real database (Postgres / Supabase) with migrations and RLS, real payments (Stripe), real env management.

  3. 3

    Tests + CI

Vitest + Playwright + GitHub Actions. So the next time you regenerate something with AI, the suite tells you what broke.

  4. 4

    Production

Deploy to Vercel / Fly / Railway with monitoring, error tracking, alerting, and on-call rotation. Mobile-responsive and PWA-ready.

  5. 5

    Handoff

Documented codebase, runbooks, and a 30-day support window. We can keep building with you, or hand it cleanly to your team.

FAQ

EdTech prototype to production: your questions.

  • We built it in Bolt to win a pilot. What now?

That's the standard path, and there's a platform-specific guide for it. The pilot proved demand; the audit tells you what has to be real before an institution signs a multi-year contract.

  • Do we need accessibility compliance?

For any public institution, yes — WCAG conformance is usually contractual. It's dramatically cheaper to fix during productionisation than after a procurement audit fails you.

  • How much of my Bolt / Lovable / v0 code can you actually keep?

Usually 30–70%. We salvage your UI and product logic; we replace the auth, DB, and integration layers because those are the parts AI generators get wrong.

  • Can you fix it without a full rewrite?

Most of the time, yes — that's our default. We rewrite from scratch only when the codebase is genuinely too far gone, and we'll tell you which it is in the first audit.
